Free Xbox Game Pass in 2026: How to Earn It

Hundreds of games, day-one releases. All free.

Updated April 2026 · 4 min read

Game Pass is one of the best deals in gaming. Hundreds of games, day one releases, cloud streaming. But the monthly cost adds up fast, especially if you're already paying for other subscriptions.

Microsoft used to run $1 trial deals that you could exploit with new accounts. Those are mostly gone now, and they've gotten better at detecting repeat sign-ups.

What people are doing instead

Earning Game Pass through task platforms. Same concept as earning any other subscription. You pick Xbox Game Pass as your goal, complete small online tasks to earn cheetz, and redeem a Game Pass code when you've earned enough.

The tasks are quick things you do on your phone. Surveys about your gaming habits, trying out new apps, labeling images. Nothing complicated. Nothing that requires a PC or console.

How long for Game Pass Core vs Game Pass Ultimate?

Game Pass Core (the cheaper tier) takes about 4 to 5 days of casual task completion. Game Pass Ultimate takes closer to 7 to 8 days because it costs more. Either way, you're doing maybe 20 minutes of tasks per day.

Tip: Some people earn Game Pass while they're waiting for games to download or install. Turn the idle time into free gaming time.

Pick Xbox Game Pass as your reward and start earning cheetz.
